Benefits of Meditation

18 October 2020
Now more than ever, the practice of mindfulness can be of tremendous benefit to our health and wellbeing.

Meditation is incredibly beneficial for the mind and body. Research has demonstrated that meditation can improve mood, reduce anger, anxiety, stress, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, promotes emotional health, enhances self-awareness, helps fight addiction, can even be useful for pain relief, and so much more.

If we find ourselves being controlled by our environment, past negative experiences, and we keep replaying the same emotional connection to each experience over and over again, we can’t expect our lives to change. Instead, we will find ourselves attracting more of the same, keeping us in a constant state of victimhood, and blocking the way for any positive changes to enter our lives.

Taking control and allowing space to become aware of our thoughts and feelings provides us with an opportunity to break negative experiences, belief systems, and emotions that no longer serve us. This self-awareness is a gift that liberates us and enables us to move through life with ease.
Life will always have its challenges, but what meditation does is help us to face them with calm and clarity. And it enables us to resolve issues and obstacles that stand in our way with minimal effort and stress.

So why not commit yourself to have a go. Find a space every day where you can sit comfortably and quietly for around 10- 20min, close your eyes, and repeat a mantra in your mind, eg. ‘I AM’, or choose a word, then repeat this continuously as this will help you to relinquish the chitter-chatter. You can’t think and say the mantra at the same time, so keep repeating the mantra. The more you do this, the more you will master your mind and experience a sense of peace.

And by doing this every day, I promise you your life will change in the most wondrous ways.

Persistence is key.

With Gratitude,
